I LOVE this set! It is the Let’s Be Adventurers set that is from the new A Muse Studio catalog. It has several landmarks and makes me think of my sister – as one of her biggest joys was traveling! I just lost her in December, so I will have to admit that it has barely sunk in.

My eldest son & I are trying to come up with an affordable / awesome trip to celebrate his graduating high school this year. He is awesome & deserves a great trip! I am currently unemployed – but we will make a decision once I find a job. I do think that the passports will be involved!

I am so very sorry little bloggy that I have been ignoring you. You see, I have this sinus infection – and it has made me a bit to “foggy feeling” to post. I have not gotten so sick that I needed to curl up in bed with some chick flicks and hot tea – but, well, it has left me feeling a bit unmotivated. And a little spacier than normal. (yikes!)

But, I have made a few cards to share with you, when I went to craft with a friend of mine last week.

I mostly case’d this card from the A Muse Studio 2012 catalog. Sure, I changed a few things and added the fabulous silky crush ribbon…But, let’s just say that I was “Heavily Inspired” by the catalog. (ha, heavily – elephant!)

Below is the picture from the catalog that I fell in love with. It is from the set, Under the Big Top. It is adorable!! (and no scary clowns!!)

Yep. A second blog post in one day! You should feel special!

The Hammock card that I posted earlier, was really made yesterday…if that makes a difference. So, in trying to keep up with my goal of 2 challenge cards, I did another challenge over a SplitCoast Stampers. This was Color Challenge, #360 – White, Island Indigo & Pool Party. Well, of course, I had to do the switcheroo & use my A Muse Studio Colors, white, ocean & bermuda.

So, the dog & the chair are by Eat Cake Graphics. Adorable, aren’t they? I used daubers to apply both the Bermuda ink (top color) and the Ocean ink to the Harlequin A|S background stamp. I fussy cut the chair from A Muse’s now discontinued Bermuda Polka Dot Cardstock. (Quick – you can still get it at my online store thru February 29th 11:59 est).

I had a happy discovery with the dog. I decided to outline the stamped lines of the dog with my W2 Warm Gray Copic – to help define him. I blended it with the colorless blender & it really seems to have brightened him up! I am not sure if you can see much of the Grey, but check out the tail – you can see it! Don’t’ you love a “Happy Accident?”

An Oldie, but Goodie…

So, I stepped away from the blog last week – life was getting in the way. I was busy working on taxes, and starting the FAFSA, so that the oldest boy child can go to college in the fall. Scary!

I jumped back into card making with another challenge from Splitcoast Stampers. This Clean & Simple (# 155) challenge was inspired by a picture on a jigsaw puzzle. It is a very pretty picture of a house by a lake. Colors were greens, with pops of reds & yellows.

So, I wanted to bring you both a scene of serenity and play with the red and yellow against the green. The tree & hammock stamp is a discontinued stamp by the original A Muse Artstamps. Fabulous, huh? Yep. It was one that I cannot part with yet. The Grunged Sunray is a current stamp by A Muse, that I used 3 of the new Venetian colors with my daubers. Loving them! Made grass with Washi tape.

You’re So Sweet… (another Sneak Peak)

Did I mention the other day that I really, really, really want to own the Hey Cupcake set? Let’s add another Really in there, because even without the cupcake, the Hey Cupcake! set is fabulous!

I colored the Cherries with colored pencil, and used Gamsol & blending stumps to smooth out the coloring. I then highlighted the cherries with a dash of Spica pen, except the cherry immediately to the right of the sentiment – I used the Spica all over that cherry.

The “you’re so Sweet” sentiment is one piece. I used my daubers to apply the black & red inks.

Sneaky Peak, with a Cherry on Top.

How would you like another Sneaky Peak?

“Pretty Please, with a Cherry on Top?” you say? Awww….that is sweet. Ok, why not!

This is from the Hey Cupcake! set. I did not originally order this, but I got to play with it, when I went over to another consultant’s house last week. It is now on my list. Towards the top.

So, I was trying to create cards out of my scrap drawer, which always seems to be growing. I made this 4.25” square out of a scrap of the School Lined paper, and then paper pieced the cupcake. The ribbon, an afterthought, wraps around the front of the card through a slit I cut in the fold.

I mentioned that the Polka Dots are retiring? Well, the lucky consultants at the A|S Convention this weekend have let us know that smaller Polka Dots are coming!! Whooo Hoooo!   I do love polka dots! We are hearing lots of other rumors & teases about the new book, so stay tuned. Heck, you should consider signing up for my newsletter &/or subscribing to my blog.

So, yesterday, I had a *GREAT* time working on my cards with one of my favorite A|S Consultants! We were even (kind of) productive!! So, I will have a few more Sneak Peaks to show you in the new day or two…

This is also from the Charming Gardeners set! When I stamped the sentiment, I did not ink the part on the bottom right that accredited this quote to Marcel Proust. Sorry Marcel, but you just did not fit in the Nestibilities Oval.

Again, I broke out the Rialto Patterned cardstock. LOVE IT. Doesn’t it look FABULOUS with the Nutmeg & Pumpkin?

Make New Friends, but Keep the Old…

Does anyone else remember the song from Girl Scouts? Yeah, if you do, sorry for the “earworm” song, but it has been going through my head the entire time I was working on this card. Now, it just might be going through yours…

It is another card with the new stamp set, Charming Gardeners. The fabulous sentiment & the flower stamp are both from that set. The flowers are on a single stamp, and they are slightly smaller than the single flower that I colored yesterday. I used the Cherry & Orange Vintage cardstock to paper piece the flowers, then colored the “underside” of the petals with a coordinating Copic.

While I had a lot of fun using the Copics yesterday to blend colors for the flowers, I wanted you all to see another way to use them. I know that a lot of you do not have Copics, and did not want you to rule out this flowers. There are a ton of great ways to use this set!!

The old friend that we used is the Polka Dot Paper. Sadly, it will be retiring soon. But, there will always have a spot in my heart (spot – get it?!?) for the Polka Dots. They were the first A Muse paper I ever tried and they won me over. You can still order it through February 1st, and don’t be surprised if you still see me use it once it is retired.

As I mentioned in an earlier post, I am challenging myself to play along with the folks at SCS. It is sa great way to keep myself motivated, and I hope to see you playing along!! I got this layout from a Challenge at Splitcoast Stampers - SC367 Sketch Challenge.

Sneaky Peaky #4

Hey everyone! I am back, just like I promised!! This time I brought another Sneak Peak with me. I played along with the SCS CAS (Clean & Simple) challenge #CAS153 – a Clean & Simple Sketch Challenge.

I used the new Charming Gardeners set from A Muse Studios. (Yep, another set that I was able to preorder – just another perk of being an A|S Consultant). I used the single flower from the set & colored it with Copics (Y11, Y17, Y38, & R08). I reverse masked 2 blocks & used my Daubers to color them with A|S Wheat & Rialto ink.

What, you have not heard of Rialto? Yep, it’s another Sneak Peak! Both the small square and the matching cardstock are Rialto – part of the new A Muse Studio Venetian Color Palette.

The paper “ribbon” that I used is from a roll called Wraphia, that I got from the gift wrapping section at Michael’s a few years ago. I have used it quite a bit, and the roll just does not shrink.

One more Quick Crown

Before I reach for another new stamp set, and take a peak at the challenges over at Splitcoaststampers – I wanted to share one more QUICK project I made with the larger Crown from Keep Calm.

I stamped it with A Muse Blackberry ink, on our 2” Maple Tag. If you have been to one of my workshops lately, you may know about my love of the Maple Tags! I have NO CLUE if they will be moving into the new Catalog, but they came out in the Holiday Guide & I have been hooked on them! The hole can be punched with a Cropodile!

So, after the Blackberry dried, I colored over all of the purple with my Spica pen for sparkle.

What would you use this for? Oh, how about as a funky necklace, gift tag, luggage tag, kids backpack, even on your dog’s collar?

The maple tags are available in my A|S shop in 2 sizes, and they come in 12 packs, 1.5” for $3.95 or 2” for $5.95.

Another Sneak Peak? Sure, since you asked so nicely…

Decided to do another quick & easy card for you all. You remember the motto, don’t you? “Think simple, think A Muse…”

This is a single stamp from the Keep Calm set that I showed you yesterday. The crown is perfectly centered, which is great – because if I tried to center it, it would be all sorts of wonky.

I broke out the A Muse scrap drawer & decided to pair up Buttercup & Wasabi, as I had the perfect size scraps to use. Stamped in Wasabi & made dots around the Sugar panel with my Y32 Cashmere Copic. Of course, the crown needed just a little something sparkly!

2012 A Muse Studio Sneak Peak #1

Hey, everyone!! I got my first box of goodies from the new A Muse Studio Inspiration Guide that comes out February 1st! “First box?” you ask, and yes, this is the first. We were shown a sneak peak, that included 9 new colors, which included a new color group called Venetian. We also saw a new pattern of cardstock, and 5 new sets of stamps. There is so much more that they are keeping secret – that the anticipation is killing me. So, while this is the first box – I know that when I get my hands on the whole catalog, there will be all sorts of new A Muse Goodies coming my way!

The stamp set that I used is called Keep Calm. I created this card as not only a sneaky-peaky for you all, but also for a SCS Color Challenge, CC357, I used the new color Burano (part of the Venetian Color Palette), Ocean, and Shell. That is the new Burano Patterned Cardstock. It is hard to tell in the picture, that I also used Shell around the edges of the Sugar (White) cardstock, and used my Spica Glitter pen on the word Queen. Of course, I had to add a little bling to the crown.

I enjoyed breaking the Burano out of it’s Palette, and really liked how the Ocean held up to it’s brightness.

It’s a Moxie Fab Challenge

Ok, they are known as a Tuesday Trigger, over at Moxie Fab. And, yes, I know it is Monday night. But this was a Two-Weeker, and you have until January15th if you want to play along!
Here is the fabulous inspiration:

I loved the repetition of the numbers, and those fabulous yummy colors. I had to break out the A Muse Studio inks. I grabbed the skunk from the Friends Fur-Ever set that was still sitting on my desk from earlier today.
I used Sage, Bermuda, Lemon Whip, Papaya & Shell inks. Added Orange & Sky Gingham with Orange twinkle stickers to knock out this quick card.

I just edited this post to include a *slightly* better picture. Dang, not easy to take a picture of such light colors. Know what I mean?

Squirrel Smiles…

It is the second week of the year, and so far, I have upheld my goal of participating in 2 stamping challenges per week. :) . While it is supposed to be winter here, in the Chicago area, it feels more like March than January.

It was SCSs CAS (Clean & Simple) Challenge #152 – Die Cuts. I broke out the Grass Die Cut and the Clouds. The stamps were all from the A Muse Friends Fur-Ever set. It is part of the January Spotlight, and it is 10% off this week.
The cardstock is also all A Muse Studio – and available in my online store. The Polka Dots cardstock is retiring February 1st, but as of today, all the colors are still available.

I just popped by to share another Eat Cake Graphics Image with you.

Can you believe how stinking cute this stamp is?

I am again doing a challenge from Splitcoast stampers. It was a color challenge CC356. I did not have the perfect green Copic to match my A Muse Wasabi cardstock, so I colored it originally with Willow & then layered Cashmere to make it more yellow-y. I love blending Copics to get what I want.

Happy to say that I used my last 4 snowflake brads when making this card. I have no clue who made them, they have been in my stash so long. I did decide to add them after the fact, so I cut the prongs off and used glue dots to adhere them.

Paper is all A Muse Studio, and is available through my online store.

Hey, everyone! I am sorry for my absence for the last 2 months, but not only have I had are/hand surgery, I also lost my sister to Cancer.

But, I am hoping for a more Creative New Year! So, I am trying to get more involved w/Splitcoast Stamper’s Challenges. This was CAS151, Clean & Simple: Beverages.

I wanted to share a card that I made with Eat Cake Graphics stamps. (I know, *not* A Muse, gasp!).

The cardstock is all A Muse. The pink layer started as a piece of Sugar cardstock that I embossed with my Web/Swirls Impression Plate (A Muse Studio TAEP004), and used A Muse Shell ink & a sponge dauber to color the raised layer. I used the paper in what I would describe as the “back” of the embossed page, so there would be more pink than white.

Flocked the bottom snow and added pearls & black twinkles. Again, find them at my A Muse Store.

(Ok, I know that the Holly makes it a bit Christmas-y, but I c0uld not wait another 10 months of so to use this stamp again. Maybe next time, I will mask the holly…)

Guess What? Chicken Butt!

I love the chicken. I had him in the original wooden block, and I have him in the Farm Fun set from A Muse Studios.

I made an extra to send to a very special person in my family…

Christmas Coaster Class–McHenry, IL

Just wanted to share with you a Christmas Coaster that we made at my sister’s house last weekend, as a part of her workshop! I created them with her in mind, as I think that the Nordic Noel screamed her name to me. This A Muse Studio set is available at my Online Shop.

I love them so much, that I am having a workshop on November 6th!

With Christmas time right around the corner, let's get our teacher's gifts out of the way early this year! Join us as we make 4 Christmas Coasters from 4"x4" Travertine Tiles! You can give your favorite teacher a set of 4 - or split them up & let two teachers have two apiece!! Heck, keep them for your self for a little holiday fun around the house :)

In this class, we will create 4 coasters. The coasters do need a day or two of drying time, and then to be coated in a water resistant gloss. You can take them home that day to finish, or you can leave me postage of $6.50 and I will gloss coat them & mail them back to you within the week! (I will bubble wrap them & send them in a small priority box)

This Autumn card uses the Harvest Blessings set, and my most favorite new accessory, the 1.5” maple tags. Aren’t they fabulous?? 3rd Post in 3 days–a Christmas Card Miracle!

Can you believe it? It is yet another post – that is 3 posts in 3 days! Whoo Hooo – Miracles do happen!

I have been a stamping maniac lately. I know that I should not admit this out loud, but I think I have “temporarily” found my mojo.

I have a Christmas card class coming up, and I wanted to share this sample I made for the class. I am absolutely 111% in LUV with this card!!

Built on a base of Kraft Cardstock, I have layers of Cherry and Vanilla cardstock. I used Fern Cardstock and the FABULOUS Christmas tree die from A Muse Studios (Amazingly, only $8.95 at my A Muse Studio Shop!!). Topped the tree off with Vanilla & Cranberry Pearl stickers. Cherry Ribbon & Red & White Bakers Twine, also from A Muse Studio.

I have the A Muse Studio Bow Maker on order & in transit, so I had to tie this bow the old fashioned way – 17 times to get it to look right. But, my absolute favorite part of this card is the maple tag. A Muse studio has two sizes, 1.5” & 2” – both are available in my store. You can stamp on them, paint them, use a Cropodile to out a hole in them, hug them, and love them. Ok, hug them & love them? Maybe that is just me…

I have more Maple Tags on order, and I am already thinking those might mot be enough…but watch my blog for more Maple Tag Projects. Or, at $3.95 for 12 of the 1.5” tags ($5.95 for the 2” tags) – seriously, order some & show me what you can do with them! I am warning you now, get more than one set – you won’t be sorry!

I am excited to share an ATC (Artists Trading Card) that I am making for one of my swaps with some of my fellow A Muse Studio Consultants. It is one of my very most-est favorite sets. Not only does it have a Vespa like scooter stamp – it has the Westie dogs!! Ok, my Westie is not gingham in real life – but in a perfect world – there would be gingham dogs.

Autumn Tree

So, I had signed up for an Autumn swap with some other consultants at A Muse Studios. But, I do have to admit that I pushed it to the back of my mind until this weekend. (hey – I still have two weeks left, don’t get all “judgy”)

Well, do you want to hear the shocker? I do not have Autumn A Muse stamps yet. Yes, I said yet.

So, I did what any Crafty Girl would do…I got creative! The “tree” that I used is really the coral, from the Sea Shells Set. (Shown below). Used Q-Tips with Fern, Cranberry, Squash & Pumpkin ink to create the fall leaves.

It’s the August A Muse Studio Consultants Blog Hop!!

The challenge this month was to make a summery card. I wanted to share with you a card that we just made at my Workshop today! We had a blast!! I have been wanting to share this for a few days, but I knew that it would be a great card to share for this blog hop.

I used the A Muse Studio Kraft cardstock. The “water” is the Bermuda Polka Dot Cardstock, and the sailboat (from the Life’s a Breeze Set) is stamped on the backside of the Bermuda Polka Dot Cardstock. I did not have anymore Vanilla Cardstock, and this way, I ensured that it all matched!

The buttons are also from A Muse Studio. You know, they guaranty that you get at least 200 buttons in your bags. My little guy counted, and we had over 400! Yes, I do love the buttony goodness of these Bermuda Buttons…

Can you believe that summer is almost over? My kiddos go back to school in 2 weeks!

You Da’ Man!–July Blog Hop

In the spirit of the 4th of July holiday, I broke out the Red, White, & Blue!! I used A Muse’s super yummy – shimmery red & white paper. Oh, how I wish that the shimmer could be seem across the screen. Added a small piece of blue and white and a piece a ribbon.

You know, when we have blog hops, I think that I have been trying harder to make something “fancy” to impress ya’ll…but, really, this card is more of my norm. And that is what first drew me to A Muse – the catch phrase, “think simple, think A Muse”. A Muse Studio’s “Foiled Again!” set is perfect for the clean style, and heck, it made me smile :)

Used Stazon to stamp on the shimmery paper, and googlie eyes from my stash. Seriously, some of you also have googlie eyes floating around there craft rooms, right? right?

Ten Minute card!!

It is not that often that I am able to come up with a ten minute card. Well, that is not really right – I come up with a lot of cards that only take 10 minutes to make. However, it does not usually take 10 minutes for me to create them. I obsess…over what colors, what paper, even which of our yummy ribbons to use. Too many fabulous choices!

Hubby suggested that I add the glitter to the ends of the butterfly wings. Excellent suggestion – I guess he will get to venture into the Stamping Room more often!

You know, I said that this is my final Inchies card…not really. It is just the final one I put together for the A Muse Studio Consultant Challenge – but I am really having fun making these.

More Inchies!!

I have really been inspired by the Inchies Challenge that JulieHRR has challenged the A Muse Studio Consultants. What a great reason to break out the Make A Scene set!! (It comes with these 3 stamps – plus rain!)

This is a top fold card. I really like to cut and fold the card in an unexpected way. The card is the size of a 4 Bar notecard.

Did you notice that I used the same colors that I used on my firsts Inchies card? Ha! I did not, until I went to stand my card up on my counter. Too easy to fall in love with the A Muse Studio colors….so, I had to make another card in a different color for you…(yes, there will be a second post in one day – look out!)

I made a quick card last night with some of the Spotlight products. I used the Sea Shells set, with Latte & Bermuda cardstock. Love the simplicity of the card!
Raised the shells with 3D Foam dots. When you are going “mostly” monochromatic – texture &/or dimension really add interest!

Highlighting With Inchies

It’s another fabulous How-To video from our friends at A Muse Studios!!

With the video came another A Muse Studio Creative Consultant challenge -

ASCC1-JUN2011

We were challenged to use Inchies on our card. Inchies are 1” square (or circles) that highlight a stamp – or even your favorite portion of a stamp.

I have been dying to use my two doggies. Quick, does anyone know if they are supposed to be Scotties or Westies? I am voting Westies, as one of my most favorite dogs is a Westie. (His name is Blitzen and he is the best-est ever!). All of these stamps come from the A Muse Sudio set, Ooh La La! And, Blitzen said I had to have it. He can be bossy like that.

I don’t know if the stamping police would consider the top to my Eiffel Tower an Inchie…but since my #1 stamping rule is there IS NO stamping police, then I can just do what I want!

Quick tip for you…when stamping over multiple layers like I did with the Eiffel Tower, it is good to have a thin lined black marker on hand. I use an Onyx Uni-ball pen, cuz that is what I had…There were spots on my impression that were not complete, do to the paper not being smooth under the stamp, I just colored it in. Then I added glitter. Because I like glitter.

Background Kissing (with Stamps!)

The fabulous Julie Ebersole has created a “how-to” video to show off how to do stamp kissing :)

So, there was a challenge for the A Muse Consultants to do a little kissing! It took me a few days to think about this challenge – as I do not remember to do this technique a lot!

So, let me tell you about this card…I came up with the idea while I was at work, and after a long day – I was able to put that idea to good use! The petals of the flowers are from the A Muse Studio set, Ovalicious (stamped in Heather) – and the center circle is from Lots of Dots (stamped in Blackberry). I raised it with a pop dot. I kissed the center circle with a stamp from the Ornate Elements set.

The adorable flower ribbon is Tiny Flower Ribbon also from A Muse! My upline shared this with me, and I was quick to put it on a card. To share my “oops” moment with you, I used my glue pen to adhere it, and the glue did stain the ribbon. In the future, I would use glue dots or another type of adhesive next time…Live & Learn….

Oh, then I used the smallest pearl stickers as the center of the ribbon flowers. You know, just as that something special

Moxie Fab Challenge Tuesday Trigger: Classically Modern

I have been thinking about this Tuesday Trigger from Moxie Fab, well since Tuesday…

I love the blue floral wall, and the crisp white bedding. Makes my eyes happy!!

Let me tell you, I even cut a few papers, and started inking them up…but this candle has been calling me to do a little altering. It is a battery operated candle that I got at my $ store (but, it was $3!) and runs on 3 AAA’s.

I stamped the flowers from A Muse Studios Clever Girls set, on Tissue Paper. I cut them out, and held them to the candle with wax paper. A quick blast from my heat gun melted the wax from the wax paper & ta-da!

The ribbon & flowers are also from A Muse Studios. Flowers were colored by pressing them into the ink pads.

Technique Tutorial #1 - Shaving Cream (Otherwise known as ‘So Easy–Even My 6 Year Old Can Do It!!’)

Thank you all for the kind words about my last 2 posts that featured the Saving Cream Technique! Thanks to the great idea from my reader, Kristen, I created the following picture tutorial.
Well, I guess I can say that I directed it. This tutorial stars my youngest son, Logan. He is six. He is going to start First Grade in the fall (he likes for everyone to know that) and he is my favorite crafting buddy. (Ignore the closet mess that you can see behind him in some pics – I am re-organizing.)

Shaving Cream Technique:

You will need the following supplies:

1. A plastic container or even a paper plate to work on.
2. Shaving Cream (I get the cheap stuff from the $ store)
3. Reinkers – A Muse Studios (Logan chose Watermelon, Orange Crush & Cherry)
4. Paper towels
5. Chopstick or something to stir with

Fill your container with about an inch or two of shaving cream.

Add drops of ink. We usually use about 7 drops each of 3 colors. I love doing this with A Muse Studio inks, available through my webstore. I ordered the Summer Collection of reinkeres, so that I know that all of the colors would coordinate.

Swirl the ink & shaving cream around, with a chop stick or anything else that you do not mind getting inky. Don’t stir too hard or you will muddle your colors, but soft swirls will give you the coolest effects.

Logan has stirred the left side of the mixture.

Gently set your paper on top of the mixture. Softly tap your paper to be sure that it has completely touched the ink.

We use our chopstick to lift up one side of the paper pull them back. You can tell at this point that Logan takes his crafting very seriously. We them put this, shaving cream side up onto a piece of scratch paper. Honestly, I use the ugly scrapbook paper that comes in the many paper packs that I have bought over the years.

Put paper towels over the shaving cream and tap to remove shaving cream. If you rub, it will smear. Maybe you will like that look, but we generally don’t…but we aren’t judge-y. We generally use about 2 papertowels, and fold them into quarters. When it is covered , we keep switching sides…you will get messy. Messy is fun, just look at his face .

TA – DA!!!
When all the shaving cream is patted off, you will have your masterpiece! I cover it with another piece of scratch paper & something to weigh it down and let it dry for at least a per hours. Then use it how you would any other Designer Paper!!

Butterflies in Blues & Greens A Muse Studio Consultants–June Blog Hop

We were challenged to create our own DSP (Designer Paper). I reverted back to one of my favorite techniques, the Shaving Cream & reinkers to make a tie-dye effect. How easy is this? Well, most of the butterflies came from paper that my 6 year old son dyed. It is one of his favorite things to do in the craft room – so it really is also one of mine. Heck, how often cen we entertain the kiddos with a few squirts of Dollar Store shaving cream & a few drops from the reinkers? We used Bermuda, Ocean & Grass – my son’s 3 favorite colors this weekend. (I am sure it is 3 different colors next weekend)

The butterfly die is the smallest from the 3 pack of dies from A Muse Studios set called Butterfly Trio ($8.95 for all 3!). You can see this die, and others, in the A Muse Studio Catalog & Inspiration Guide.

Found a little mojo…

Haven’t been too crafty in about a week…sometimes life just gets in the way of the creativity.

In the meantime, I had a chance to place another order with A Muse Studios. Not only did I get the Summer Collection of reinkers, but I got these Star Dies.

So, yesterday, the littlest stamper in the house & I broke out the dollar store shaving cream & the re-inkers and created these fabulous stars! You can see great tutorials about the Shaving Cream Technique – on Splitcoast Stampers.

Happy to say, that I have found my mojo again! It was just hiding in my scrap space – under all the mess :)

Somehow, I added to my own challenge the thought of making it now, for Father’s Day. The idea of going masculine…all because I wanted to use the yummy brown ribbon that came with my A Muse Studio Starter set…

Tuesday Trigger Time! Skirting the Issue

It’s another Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger!!
I had a fun time breaking out my ribbon, and choosing just the right ones. There is a pink that I used as well, but I ended up covering it in flowers. The stripes just screamed to me to break out the ribbons! I also decided that this girlie-girl skirt screamed for a feminine card, so of course, the flowers had to come out to play!!
The flowers started white, but I colored them with Copic Markers. My tip for coloring the flowers is to color the backside and let the ink bleed through, it makes the color a little softer, almost muted. Also, color some with one coat of ink, and go back over others to make them more saturated, and you will see a greater variety of shades. I did that on both the pick & blue flowers….if you were here, you could really see what I mean :)
Most supplies are from A Muse Studios, I know the sheer green ribbon was from A Muse, but the rest of the ribbons are from the Ball Jars of assorted ribbons that sit on my shelf.

Crafty in the Morning…

I work 10 hour days, Monday through Thursdays, so that I can have Friday off. I have been trying to focus on being crafty while the little guy is in morning Kindergarten. This morning, it has been a fight to not veg out in front of the tv. What came to my rescue?

You guessed it…COFFEE!!

So, to celebrate those awesome beans…it is my “How ya’ bean?” card.

The papers are all from A Muse Studios. The Orange & White striped ribbon is from my great big drawer of ribbon, and all stamps are also from A Muse. I first inked the Grunged Sunray in Lemon Whip ink, and then dabbed Papaya ink (with a Q-Tip…) all over it, to give it a tie-dye effect. I colored the cup with Copics.

Return of the Beautiful Botanicals

Used the Beautiful Botanical set again this weekend, with very different results! I made this for a Splitcoast Stampers sketch challenge (SC330) and I am LOVIN’ the results.

I stamped the flowers in Memento Tuxedo Black & A Muse Studio Slate. I first stamped the Harlequin in Slate, and the card came across as very dark…So….I flipped the paper over & tried it again in my Encore Metallic Silver! Perfect!!! It really comes across as one shade lighter that the slate.

That was my last piece of this ribbon from my organdy stash from A Muse. I will definitely have to order more, it has been a favorite of mine for quite some time. All papers were from A Muse Studios – and I have no stinking clue where I got the brads.

I wanted to stay inspired by both the masculine colors and the imperfection of the circle shapes. I used my circle punch, but offset my circles to get that perfectly imperfect feel to them. All of you that know me, should understand how hard it was for me to leave them asymmetrical like that….

The rocket & sentiment are one single stamp. I inked them separately to hide the sentiment until you open the card.

Of course, all papers & stamps are A Muse Studios.

Used the following Copics: R29, G24, B93 & Y17.

Colored OUTSIDE the Lines

I decided to play along with a Splitcoast Stampers challenge this week! This was CAS116 (clean and simple), the challenge was to repeat an element in 3’s.

The clean & simple, that is perfect for A Muse Studios!! Wanting to keep the focus on white space, I decided to use my Copics to color around the images! I am feeling pretty brilliant about this one, if I do say so myself!!

The green gingham is a scrap, that seemed to work perfectly.

I love paper piecing!!

Another Simple card by A Muse Studios - had a lot of fun adding the different depths.

Just another example that card making does not have to be difficult! (Hey, if I can do it…)

The card is a top-fold, and I used Stazon Jet Black ink to stamp on the ribbon. All supplies are available at my A Muse Studio page.

So, tonight I broke out some patterned paper from my stash! The paper is from the Mambi Color Basics line by me&my BIG ideas. I have probably had it for a few years, so I do not know if you can even still find it….but it is so basic, that I am sure you have some simple blues you can always use.
